He may not realize it yet, but my sights are set on this man to be my future husband.

Pictures of the day posting went by the wayside this weekend due to the two extremely ginormous wedding posts…I had images to post for POTD…just no time…and I am one of those people that can really only focus on one thing at a time, so I had to get those posts up first before I could post anything else. That being said..this post takes care of all my POTD’s from Friday the 13th through today…and since I was bad about getting them up each day..I am treating you with way more than one for each day!! ok…here we go!
Monday January 16th’s POTD AND today, January 17th’s POTD
One of the great things about the off season is being able to find time to sit down and go through all my folders of images and organize everything because when I am busy I just have a bad habit of sticking my own personal images anywhere thinking “Oh I will put that where it goes later” and before I know it months have gone by and my pictures folder on my computer looks like a tornado hit it… One of the things that get shuffled around the most are images that my 2nd shooter takes of me while I am out or images that I take of my 2nd shooter. On FB I have a behind the scenes album and as I was organizing stuff yesterday came across a few gems….

Kinda makes you want to run out right now and hire me as your wedding photographer doesn’t it? lol My 2nd shooter Mitch Bowen shot this at one of my summer weddings. He was checking his light… soooo pretty Speaking of hiring me as your wedding photographer…there are probably a few other things you should be aware of as well…
if the above image wasn’t enough to make you wanna hire me THIS INSTANT..how about this one..

Kate Hargis snapped that lovely shot…seriously…Could I be ANY MORE unlady-like…lol…um in case you are wondering the answer to that is unfortunately, “YES”
lol
If you haven’t yet been unphased by the top two images..and you are STILL possibly considering using me as your wedding photographer..please know that if you have props..and a photobooth..I am not afraid to dress up like Captain Morgan… Gail Flemming knows this first hand because she caught me doing it here…

lol…oh and in addition to making goofy faces, rolling all over the ground, and playing dress up…I will also stand around making jokes with your guests while I wait for you to come down the aisle…just ask my sister, Jodi Schlosser!

If I am not cracking people up with my hilarious sense of humor… most of the time I just stand around in a state of awesome-ness

You should also know I sometimes may try to lick your fancy wedding gifts

and my beauty has been known to be so mesmerizing by some grooms that it actually causes them to be physically unable to open their eyes…

Sometimes if I feel like I haven’t felt you up enough, it could be that I may make you touch me inappropriately..

Oh..if I am on the bus…I may accidently photobomb ya when your friends are taking pics…and then they will friend request me so they can show me how I ruined it

AND I carry waaaay too much gear..and have been known to accidently physically assault guests with it…small children are most susceptible to it because it hangs right at their head height..

and sometimes my face could be right up in your backside business… Thanks for taking 6,000 unflattering photos of me that day Michelle Dierker! lol

So…now you have the full story and if you still decide to hire me after knowing the whole truth…YOU ROCK
Sunday January 15th’s POTD is my lovely, amazingly talented photographer friend Kate Hargis…
I snapped this pic while she was laying on the ground getting a cool shot of her clients..isn’t she the cutest?
one of the cool things about being the 2nd shooter is having less stress and being able to hang out with the bride and her dad and in this case the cute little flower girls right before they walk down the aisle..not sure why I love this image so much but I do..

Later that night Kate had a great idea to take her clients outside and get a pic of them under the sign at the theater they were married at..by this time it was pouring down rain..but Kate is one of those who really just goes the extra mile..and because she does..I was able to snap this really cool pic which I think just may have been one of my top favorites I shot ALL year long… I love how the backlighting makes the rain look all glittery…

Saturday January 14th’s POTD
is one I got when 2nd shooting for my friend Katy Corea…we had such a fun day..and busted out of of us with my fisheye lens..which is why we look all wacky

Friday the 13th’s picture of the day is actually PICTURES of the day…lol and they also have a back story…
so see this should MORE than make up for the fact I wasn’t able to actually get them posted on the blog even though I did take them…
Ok..anyone who knows me knows I am seriously the WORST cook on the planet. A year or so ago I could barely even successfully boil a pot of water…lol a very sad but true story. I remember once about two years ago I got a wild hair up my butt one day to “make” something I had been thinking about (which actually did end up turning out and being very yummy) but my son, who was probably 5 1/2 at the time came around the corner and stopped DEAD in his tracks…eyes as big as saucers..and in the most incredulous voice exclaimed “MOM!!! What ARE you doing?” I laughingly replied “Well I am cooking dinner silly” and he literally burst into a belly laugh and said “Bwhahahaha…moms don’t COOK…you’re so crazy!”
So…um…ya…that’s how much of a cook I WASN’T…my own son in Kindergarten had never seen me cook and had no idea that moms were even allowed to do such things…because at my house I wasn’t ever really allowed near the stove…lol
But due to some unfortunate life circumstances..I have been forced to learn how to cook..and trust me I am using that term very lightly…mainly mac n cheese, chicken nuggets, ravioli, spaghetti, etc…My kids will be the first to tell you though, I am “the best re-heater EVER”…lol
ANYWAYS…one of the things I have learned to make really well is breakfast stuff…you know..bacon, eggs, pancakes, etc..so many times we will have breakfast for dinner. I got really tired of only being able to cook one pancake at a time so I was EXTREMELY excited about being the proud new owner of an electric griddle I had purchased from Wal-Mart. I had it in the pantry and was super pumped to bust it out to make millions and millions of pancakes at once. I really made a huge deal out of it to..I made the kids wait a couple days and we were going to document it for my “POTD”..so I get out my camera, put in a new card, lay it carefully on the counter, then get out all the ingredients..open the box, READ the directions…I washed my griddle with warm soapy water..carefully seasoned it with oil and wiped off the excess JUST exactly as the directions had told me to…which was ticking off my kids to NO end because they were like “hurry up all ready…we’re staaaaaaaaarving…” I go to plug it in…and much to my dismay..there is no plugger-inny thingie..you know what I mean..that thing that connects the griddle to the outlet. I went through the box again..and then again…this just simply can’t be…getting more and more IRATE by the second…Cussing ensued (hey I am not proud but DANG I was super ticked) Going OFF on Wal-mart..saying every mean negative thing I could think of about how some hoosier must have previously bought this griddle and returned it only so they could keep the magical plugger inner…keep in mind all the while my kids are watching me reach this psychotic state….so I literally grabbed the stupid griddle threw it in the box..and of course I couldn’t get the freakin’ styro-foam sides back in and it’s making a huge mess of static-y snowball shredded styro-foam all over the floor…so in a fit of rage RIPPED them back out of the box..and in doing so realized the plug thingie was wrapped and tucked neatly into the side of the styro foam the whole time…My kids watched me take it out and I looked at them…and they both just started laughing and my daughter was like “Over-react much” bwahahaha…um..ya I guess in this case I did…but the good news is we made the pancakes and even made bacon too…and they were the best tasting pancakes and bacon ANY of us had ever had… ![]()

Lyvi likes chocolate chips in her pancakes..

I have no one to blame but myself for how goofy my kids are…

The fisheye lens is a lot of fun to use. It’s a distortion lens that, depending on how close you are to the lens and where you position things..can make objects..in this case ME…look pretty distorted..so of course after I took some of them she just HAD to take some too…here’s me..cookin up some BACON…yummmy oh and how appropriate is it that I have on an oscar the grouch shirt that says “cranky”…

After grabbing the camera to get that lovely image of me..she disappeared for awhile. Later when I was uploading the images, and it was taking FOREVER, it became very clear where she had wondered off to. First though..I must back track a bit. If you were my friend on facebook, you would know that my child is a huge fan of taking pics of herself..on MY phone..which she uploads to my page in order to tag herself. If looking at yourself in the mirror and taking pics while doing it was a paying job, Lyvi would be a multi-millionaire right now…lol…My FB friends are constantly bombarded with the images seen below. And all of them are always taken in the bathroom, in front of the mirror, giving the peace sign..and usually has her tongue hanging out. At first I was concerned that this was just something odd that my child did…but since I have access to her FB page as well…I have discovered that this is something very popular among all the girls ages 11-14 or so…WHY??? I don’t get it…but I cracked up when I saw this one because it is so typical of her. At least this one didn’t get uploaded to my FB page lol

This is a pic Lyvi took of Dirty licking his chops waiting patiently for his treat…

ahhhhh good times…lol
getting M. A. R. R. I. E. D…. lol..man the sheer amount of dorkiness I encompass never ceases to amaze me lol…
If ridiculously attractive people smiling and laughing and having the time of their lives gets on your ever lovin’ last nerve..I am warning you now to stop reading this post this very instant…because that is exactly what you are going to be seeing for the remainder of it. I was referred to Taylor by the famous Lindsey…AKA the Lindsey from Lindsey and Ryan…yes the SAME Lindsey I was talking up in the last post that had also referred Megan and Chris…So I knew before even meeting Taylor that I would love her…just for the simple fact that Lindsey was friends with her. Upon meeting her, right away I was blown away by how beautiful she is…I kept waiting for signs of “bitchiness or high maintainence” because surely someone as breathtaking as Taylor was BOUND to have some sort of character flaw…lmao..but as I talked with her I quickly realized that she is seriously one of the bubbliest, most genuine people on the planet. She is so positive and upbeat and just being in her presence puts you in a good mood…Her fiance Jordan is made of the same mold. I remember when I was working on their engagement pics my 12 year old daughter was like “OMG mom that guy looks JUST like Taylor Lautner” In fact I caught her going to my blog shortly after posting their engagement images and just staring at the pictures of him….lol For the first few hours of their wedding I kept thinking about that and I kept calling him Taylor which was BAD..because Taylor was the bride…lol ugh..But anyways…I digress..
Taylor and Jordan are literally a match made in heaven and we had the most amazing time on their wedding day…
One really neat thing they did was have a slideshow for their guests to watch as they waited for the ceremony to begin. I also loved the handmade invitations…Trees were the theme for the day…Hence the very catchy title to the post…am I good or what?

This was only one of the MANY DIY projects Taylor made for her wedding. I loved the way they turned out!

Taylor’s friends were so happy for her!

stunning

Everyone got a little choked up when dad saw his baby girl all dressed up as a bride for the first time…

balancing a heavy bouquet in the palm of one hand is just ONE of Taylor’s many talents…You will read more about some others later in this post..

I LOVE LOVE LOVE that look right after the kiss…that will NEVER get old to me…NEVER

There was a serious amount of petals being tossed. I think Taylor and Jordan are lucky they didn’t lose an eye during all of this!

Their wedding date was September 24th and the leaves had just started to begin changing colors

I was lucky to have my sister, Jodi schlosser 2nd shooting with me that day..and on the way back to the reception she had us stop by this cool little place with a graffiti wall…it was so fun…

Do you ever stop to wonder what goes into getting an image like the one shown here

At some point..maybe it was me or maybe it was the alcohol getting the best of everyone..someone decides..”hey..it would be cool to get ON the wall” and that’s how it starts…First the guys get up there..
PS there’s always one in every bunch lol

So what does one do when all of his buddies are able to get up on the wall when he can’t…he lets bridemaids hoist him up **side note** I may or may not have peed a little in my pants while all of this was going down…lol

and then another bright idea happens…Hey I wonder if the girls can get up there…and of course the girls don’t want to be outdone by the guys…they are just a little more resourceful and noticed a ladder down just a bit on the wall
easy does it

I like that no one really gave a second thought to the fact that one false move could have ended up in a shredded dress..or worse…a crippling fall…everyone was like “Hellz ya…we are TOTALLY getting up there” LOVE girls that aren’t afraid of the possibility of getting a little dirty..or possibly even facing death..lol

Bet you’re wondering what everyone did once they got up there huh? We did a few different things, but here’s just a couple..

just playing around with a little perspective here

We quickly discovered that getting down was not quite as easy as getting up there!

YAY!! We did it!

It is probably a scientific fact in a book somewhere that these two are completely uncapable of taking a bad photo. They made my job so easy that day!

None of the following images were a result of any direction being given what-so-ever…this is just what all the beautiful people do on their wedding day..they frolick around all frolicky like in tall prairie grasses gazing at each other lovingly to just pass some time before the reception… But I am sure you knew that already
lol

bwahahaha actually it’s amazing they looked relaxed and happy at all because after I saw this pic my sister took of me..I look like a mean, crabby BEE-YOTCH shouting orders at them…lol which I obviously was NOT doing because as I stated before no direction was being given..this is just what people do when they are as in love as these two are
Actually the real truth is I am the single most unphotogenic person on the planet. I just take crappy photos because I know I wasn’t in a bad mood at all that day…if I am ever shooting your wedding and you ever see me looking like this…please come slap me immediately and tell me to get that nasty mean look off my face…this is horrible…lol

I swear these two could be on a magazine cover…Not only are they both extremely gorgeous..they are just about the two nicest people you could ever hope to meet…and in addition to that incredibly talented and extremely smart. Jordan is an engineer…Taylor a graphic artist…wow talk about the gene pool JACKPOT!

Just looking at these images makes me happy. We had so much fun that afternoon. It was such a perfect day.

The reception was out at Quail Ridge Lodge…perfect venue for their Tree theme!

From a distance, it may be hard to tell exactly what that tree picture is on the left, but it was actually used as a sort of “guest book”. Taylor is an amazingly talented artist. When we were at the final consult chatting about her big day, I couldn’t help but get excited about all the projects she made herself. One of THE COOLEST things I have ever seen was this BIG tree she had drawn. From far back it looks just like a pen and ink sketch of a beautiful tree, but as you get closer and really look at it, you’ll notice that what appeared to be minute detailing in the branches is actually every single wedding guest’s name hand written to FORM the branches and trunk of the tree. When the guests arrived, they looked for their name and using a green ink pad, left an impression of their thumbprint as a leaf on the tree where their name was written…How cool is THAT???

Here it is up close from the bottom. You can see the main part of the trunk is their names.

As I mentioned before, Taylor is an artist. Since trees were the theme of the wedding (very fitting for fall I might add)she actually made that tree sculpture that the place cards are sitting under. It is so neat. I am extremely jealous of her creativity and talent! And all those burlap table runners..yep you guessed it…she made those too!

up close image of the coil-y tree She designed and constructed!

In addition to the cake, these two had quite the dessert spread going on…a candy bar, cookies, candy apples…just looking at the table made my mouth water. Another cool thing Taylor did was make the cake topper. And all the tissue flower puffy things hanging around was also one of her DIY projects..I LOVE LOVE LOVE that and think those little touches add so much to personalize your wedding!

I spy with my little eye Jordan busting out the running man…it MUST be time to get the party started!!

right after intros Taylor and Jordan went straight into their first dance! LOVED all the bright natural light coming in the windows! Quail Ridge is always so pretty but man in the fall, it’s just beautiful!

awesome friends and family always = fantastic toasts!!

After toasts there was a special group prayer and we were lucky enough to see a hot air balloon fly by. I have no idea why those amaze me, but they do…maybe I am just way too easily amused…lol

I REALLY didn’t see a cake smashing coming on this one…normally I can usually tell when someone is gonna get a cake smear, but this one came out of the blue..and much to my surprise I am almost positive it was Taylor that started it, but I can’t be 100% certain because they both did kinda have the look of the devil in their eyes..lol

Something else that was really funny is, the way they had the cake on the table, it was extremely difficult to get positioned to where I could get the cake and get Taylor and Jordan as well..AND because they are so loved by all their friends and family…everyone there it seemed also wanted to get a pic of the cake cutting. As I was editing the images I came across this lovely gem of an image taken by my sister of me being surrounded by the camera mob…lol Love the guy videoing AND taking pics with a camera in his other hand. I am also fairly certain I just about knocked several people out cold when I backed up really fast during the cake smearing..UGH I always feel so bad when I do that!

One thing I really liked about spending the day with these guys is seeing the interaction between them and their families…just the over all sense of “family-ness” you could just tell how important everyone was to everybody. I love that.

Every time I look at these images I crack up…Jordan was taking this garter removal very seriously..

They had one of the most packed dance floors I have ever seen. Their guests DEFINITLEY had a great time!

THANK YOU Mr. and Mrs. Henry for letting Jodi and I share your day with you. It was a BLAST! Take care you two and I wish you the best of luck in your new home out west!
Heggerville…most likely is a place many of you have never heard about before..but those who have been there know it’s a beautiful place filled with love, laughter, and thoughfulness… This post has been long awaited by my dear client Megan. Awhile back I was toying around with the idea of possibly not even doing this blog any more..because of the insane amount of time it takes to get these posts up…mostly due to my own fault in being indecisive about what to share..PLUS it’s very few and far between that anyone (besides Megan, Sheri, and Jen) that even take a couple minutes to leave a comment..so far all I know they are literally the only three people on the planet even reading my blog…but it was because of Megan’s urging that I continued..and is what brings me to this very special post all about the very awesome wedding day of Megan and Chris Hegger.
They were married on a beautiful slightly overcast fall day..in a wonderful old stone church across from Lafayette Park.

The room was abuzz with excitement when I came in…probably due to the fact that I was there…but I mean I guess it could have also been because of two very special people getting ready to unite in marriage…but still most likely everyone was pumped about me being there… In fact when I walked in they were like “High five!” Sara’s here! ![]()

The room the girls were getting ready in was super tiny…I remember being crammed up in there in the corner so I wouldn’t keep hitting people with my gear. As you know..I typically have three camera bodies on me at all times. If I had a dollar for every time I whacked someone with my gear or almost had a flash ram into a child’s head or someones butt crack..I would most likely be able to retire right at this moment as a very rich woman…lol ![]()

Megan’s friends were allso excited for her..I mean genuinely excited. I love it when all the bridesmaids are close close friends.

I absolutely loved these getting ready shots..Megan and her friends and family are all so expressionable…they are my kind of people and exactly the kind of people that make me spending an entire day away from my kids a little more worthwhile!

Ok so the next two sets of images show Megan getting the last needed part to turn into a “real bride”..her veil..and also show the expression of her seeing herself for the first time as a “real bride”. I was torn about what I wanted to show here..because these four show the magical transformation where everything is rainbows and unicorns…
BUUUUUUT…the way that I have these next four arranged tell a different story. I could have arranged them like THIS because this was also happening a the same time as the pics above…What the above set of images didn’t show was the veil pinning was painful..and her mom was staring in disbelief at how the veil was actually going in…see this is why it takes so long for me to blog…because I want to post everything and I can’t..and it takes so long for me to even decide what to put out here…lol LOVE her mom’s facial expression in these.

I love when sentimental cards are given that bring tears to people’s eyes.
As I was looking at Mike’s getting ready images, I couldn’t help but notice the extremely large amount space the guys had to get ready in compared to the large closet with an enormously large amount of furniture and misc. crap in it that the girls have to get ready in…and it’s like that in almost every church too…HELLOOOOOO??
Dear future church builders of the world,
Brides need more space because they have a shit ton of stuff… Keep this in mind when doing the design!
Thanks,
Sara

Oh preceremony guest candids how I do love thee!

Megan and her dad moments before she walked down the real aisle..she didn’t make it very far before she completely lost it in one of those cazy “I am crying my eyes out but laughing hysterically at the same time because I am crying” moments.

I don’t think there was a dry eye in the place when Megan walked down to meet Chris…myself included. Everyone was literally overcome with emotion because of the love these two share. It was truly spectacular. And I don’t remember the names of the poems that were read during the ceremony, but I remember them being the most favorite readings I have ever heard during a ceremony. VERY touching.

I have come to realize after 2nd shooting a couple of times myself now..that TRULY the best thing about it is being able to get images like these when the main shooter is still getting the “expected” stuff inside the church. LOVE this one Mike got right after Megan and Chris came back down the aisle!

you know how I love me some post ceremony candids…especially ones that tell a story like this..

and when the family members are fans of double fisting beverages RIGHT after church..it’s pretty much a shoe-in that it’s gonna be a FUN party later… I couldn’t WAIT!

After a few family shots we headed over to Lafayette Park. I remember that weekend was the Balloon races at Forest Park so I was VERY thankful their church was right across the street from where we were going to be shooting. St. Louis traffic can be nutso!

I hit the JACK POT with this wedding..nice, caring, funny and ATTRACTIVE to boot… I shoulda bought a lottery ticket that night…because that is exactly how I felt walking out of their reception later that evening…extremely lucky…who knows..maybe that’s why I didn’t buy a ticket..because I felt like I had already won…
awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww sometimes I am so sweet I even amaze myself…lmao
but it’s true..love these two people!

At the final consult when I was talking with these two about the images they KNEW they wanted to make sure they got…they started laughing and were like “ok…so we have this thing we do”… and so here it is…kinda reminiscent of the awkward family photos site..only this one would maybe fall under awkward wedding photos..but basically their “thing” is to do this really fake cheesy smile…and here is us doing that…and it was so funny because it isn’t as easy as it looks ![]()

I love Mike’s tilt shift lens!
<
We drove around for a bit after some street shots by Neo because they had booked that GINORMOUS STL Road pony bus...You GOTTA love a bus with stand up bars and STRIPPER poles..woot woot..if ya look closely you'll even see me in one of these pics..NOT on the stripper pole though...people have to pay extra for that :) You can also see where I got the idea for the title of the post...
When we met up for their final consult Megan knew she wanted a silhouette shot that she saw that I had done for Lindsey. Well those shots need certain lighting so we had Mike bring his off camera lighting up to the roof and he got this one. LOVE it.

Their reception was at Neo. I love that they let you go up on their roof because you can get some fantastic shots up there!

They were treated to a beautiful sunset that evening. The wall of windows made it PERFECT for viewing that!

At the sign-in table were two large canvasses that Lindsey (yes, of the famous Lindsey and Ryan that I always am thanking because of all the clients they send me..see below) made. Megan and Chris wrote down some sentiments and Lindsey made these canvasses with what they wrote to give to them as wedding gifts (SO CREATIVE AND SUCH A MEANINGFUL GIFT). They were being revealed at the reception and we made sure to get their reaction to reading them.

As I said what was written on the canvasses was a surprise..so these few images are Megan and Chris reading what each other wrote..turns out they are so in sync with each other that the canvasses go almost hand in hand…thank goodness Chris got rid of the bowl cut because I in fact saw some pics of them together at a high school dance and actually laughed outloud… ![]()

OMG..seriously…can these two be any cuter??

After toasts and a VERY yummy pasta dinner it was time for the first dances. I had so so so many favorites. I love it when people truly get caught up in the moment and enjoy their first dance..it’s like everything else in the world during those few minutes is non-existant and all they are truly doing is soaking in every second of that moment…like they are the only two people in the room right then…that’s how these two were… They weren’t talking really, or looking around, or feeling self conscious…***sigh*** it’s so hard to put into words..man I wish I was a better writer.. Ok what I am trying to say is that the first dances were amazing…period.end.of.story. lol

I loved watching how emotional her mom got watching the father/daughter dance…

This reception was so much fun…all sorts of people getting all kinds of jiggy out on the dance floor. One memory that really stands out were many guests had choreographed dance moves..not your plain ol schmain ol line dancing..but were seriously BUSTING some moves. At one point one particulary agile guy did some sort of like fiddler on the roof move where he was on the floor but then ran over to the window and jumped up on the ledge and kicked off the window..like straight up what you would see in a musical..I almost peed my pants..it was MOST excellent.
I also saw the “fishing reel”..here the cute girl in the blue dress is being reeled in

some dance moves from the Patrick Dempsey classic “Can’t buy me love” Although this crowd was probably too young to have ever seen that one..

more Dancing with the stars moves

and I love this one because clearly it’s a fast song..but look at the two love birds over to the right making their own sweet music…awww

I think I may have embarrassed Mike a little because with all this dancing I couldn’t help but bust out some of my own moves..thank goodness there is no footage of THAT..lol

A trip to Heggerville wouldn’t be complete without tasty snacks. And being the ever gracious hosts, the newlyweds treated their guests to yummy White Castles… Who knew White Castles even catered weddings? I sure didn’t..and the fact that they were carrying them around on that nifty little neon tray…made them even tastier…I would know because I had one…ok I am not gonna lie, I had two.
The guests also had a lot of fun with their photo booth and props…I am kicking myself for not geting in there lol..

Megan and Chris..Thank you so very much for letting Mike and I be a part of your day. You welcomed us as part of the family and we both truly had an amazing time with you that day. And also Megan, thanks for giving me that little kick (AKA sending me on a guilt trip to the point of no return..lol) I needed to get my blog rolling again. I can’t promise that every post will be as detailed and heartfelt as this one…but then again who knows..stranger things have happened.
Lastly I wanted to give a very special shot out to some amazing people, that without knowing, would have made the images I shared with you today impossible. First and foremost, Lindsey and Ryan..thank you thank you thank you from the bottom of my heart for being some of the sweetest, kindest, most genorous clients friends ever. I cannot thank you enough for all the wonderful new clients, like these two, that you have sent my way. I will be forever greatful for your loyalty. I think about you two more that you would ever guess. AND I cannot wait for that precious baby to get here..undoubtedly it will be the CUTEST baby on the planet. And Mike Cassimatis…as per the norm..your images from the day were astounding. You are HANDS DOWN my favorite photographer in St. Louis…not just to work with, but whose work I like to look at. You have a true gift and Megan and Chris’ online gallery wouldn’t have been the same without your natural creative flair and vision. I only wish that I had half your talent…again, THANK YOU.
not really..but boy by watching the news with all the crazy ass drivers and school closings you’d a thought it was..seriously people..It was like less than an inch or so of snow..common sense says..be careful, it’s slick. It’s not armeggedon…I promise.
That being said..there was no way I was going out today. But to document our first real (even if not very significant) snowfall..I gotta couple pics when I ran out for 2 seconds in my jammies today to get the mail..I SURELY hope no one saw me…I am sure I looked hysterical. Heck for all I know someone in the neighborhood probably took a pic of me and I am floating around as THEIR picture of the day…it woulda been much more interesting than these..but oh well
pic #1: I am renting a house right now..and whomever lived here before me was a huge fan of what I like to call “yard friends”..you know..those little ceramic knick knacks similar to garden gnomes only worse IMO because…i don’t really know why..just worse. ANYWAYS. I thought I had thrown most of them out, but happened to notice this poor guy braving the winter storm today.

and I am gonna have one very sad bird when he comes back from his vacation home down south..his nest was almost toppled over from the wind and it was filled with snow..you know..from the blizzard earlier today ![]()
